Prayer

Ever-loving God, thank you for the gift of this pilgrimage of faith through the days of Advent and Christmas. Send me out into your world surrounded by Epiphany light, that I may be your mind, heart, and hands in the world. Amen.

Carry These Words in Your Heart Today

Let me be Christ's hands, heart, and spirit in the world.

Today's Picture

I want to thank you for walking with me on this Advent/Christmas journey. It's been an honor and a pleasure. If you have not already, I hope you'll take a moment to fill out the survey on The Uncluttered Heart. If you are interested in uncluttering your heart all year 'round, I recommend that you consider Alive Now magazine. Also, you can keep up with my work, writing, and new projects at my website: http://www.betharichardson.com. Let's do this again sometime! Many blessings to you on this day of Epiphany.

Book of the Day

A Guide to Prayer for All God’s People
Rueben P. Job and Norman Shawchuck

Rueben Job and Norman Shawchuck's Guides to Prayer have been spiritually helpful and inspiring to many people, including me, through the years. The original book was A Guide to Prayer for Ministers and Other Servants. This second one, All God's People, includes daily prayer, scripture readings, quotes, and an outline for monthly personal retreats.   More about the book.

Loving God, we thank you for this holy time, for bringing us together across the world. You are the center of our little community. Be with us, God, as we journey into the season of Epiphany. May we continue to unclutter our hearts, minds, spirits, lives, so that we can make room for you. thank you, God, for this special time. Amen.

I have enjoyed each daily picture and the message that you sent with it. (today's picture shows a real sense of humor)...I am so thankful that, unlike the holiday music you hear on the radio, your messages did not simply end on December 26th...Blessings on you for carrying your message right to Epiphany!! I will try to be the light of Christ as I go forward in the New Year...you already are!

AMEN & AMEN. I also was glad that this did not end on Christmas. Thanks for blessing us all, Beth, with your words. This made me stop .... and think.

I am also glad this didn't end at Christmas because I came in late to each days devotion but what I did get to participate in was a wonderful journey; Thank you all for participating. I have enjoyed the feedback from everyone and it lets you know that there are so many more people out there that have a faith that is stronger than ever and a belief in Jesus Christ, that you would think. I hope you do this again next year because it is a wonderful way to get involved in advent and the Christmas story. God Bless you all and may this year be a joyful and peacful year for everyone.

Thank you Beth and all who have contributed to the comments - you have carried me through the first anniversary of by mother's passing. As the saying goes, "when the shepherds have returned to their flocks and the wise men have all gone home, then the real work of Christmas begins." Help me Lord to seize opportunities to make a difference in new ways for more people. Amen

Uncluttered Heart has been a great blessing to me. I have been able to share some fears and concerns, some prayers for myself and for those who opened their hearts and needed prayers said for them. Thank you Beth for your faithfulness to minister to others in this way.
I will miss the daily messages. I have not sent a comment every day simply because of many things before Christmas. Not enough time, funerals, unexpected responsibilities...however, I read and was blessed by every comment.
Thanks to all of you for your prayers for me and for your wonderful comments.
Blessings to All!

guide us day by day, Holy Father, in giving the gifts You have so abundantly and graciously given to us -- the greatest of which is love.

The bare facts of my Advent season were disappointment, separation and grief. The reality of what I'll remember is joy, love and gratitude; this community helped unclutter my heart, open my mind, and live grace--fully. Every day I loved reading what you wrote, and whether or not I contributed, I was always listening. Still am.

Thank you, Beth, for creating this rich environment, and in such a beautiful, memorable way. You are truly living your life's purpose.

I pray that you will all be healthy, happy, peaceful and safe in this blessed new year. Thank you thank you.

Amen to all of these prayers.
I thank God too, for the internet and people like Beth who devise exciting ways to use it. It is amazing to me that we can be a group like this in spite of the miles between us all.
